Jackson Wants Out

Stephen Jackson has requested that the Warriors trade him to anywhere in Texas, Cleveland or New York. Since his request, the Dallas Mavericks have expressed interest in no only Jackson, but Monta Ellis as well. What is your reaction to this and what do you think the Warriors should do? Comment with your ideas.

Summer League Record!

Following Anthony Randolph's stellar performance in which he tied a Summer League record with 42 points, Anthony Morrow did even better. Instead of merely tying the Summer League record like Randolph did a few nights before, Morrow shattered it with 47 points of his own. Do you think that this is a sign of great improvement coming for Anthony Morrow, who already won the 3-point shooting title in his rookie season? Comment with your ideas.

Team USA Invitation

Anthony Randolph, Warriors second year forward, has been invited to participate in USA National team's mini camp. This is a great honor for Randolph, as he joins Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose as the only two players from the 2008 Draft to be playing with Team USA. How well do you think Randolph will end up doing for the Warriors in this upcoming season? Comment with your ideas.

Anthony Morrow's First Career Start

In only his fourth career NBA game and his first career start, undrafted rookie Anthony Morrow scored 37 points on 15 of 20 shooting to go with his 11 rebounds. Morrow's 37 points are the most by any rookie so far this season. Do you think he can become one of the key players for the Warriors this season. Comment with your ideas.

Early Summer League Success

The Warriors have won each of their first two Summer League games, first beating the Philadelphia 76ers and then the Dallas Mavericks. In the first game, Anthony Randolph led all scorers with 30 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to go with it. In the second game, Marco Belinelli led all scorers with 25 points. The Detroit Pistons are the only other team with a 2-0 record to start the Summer League. What do you think of the early Summer League success from the Warriors? Comment with your ideas.

Hello Maggette, Bye-Bye Pietrus

The Warriors have recently signed Corey Maggette to a five-year, 50 million dollar contract. Meanwhile, forward Mikael Pietrus has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Orlando Magic. What do you think of these two most recent transactions? Comment with your ideas.

Warriors Summer Camp

The Warriors have announced their Summer League roster. The 14 man roster includes five Warrior players (Brandan Wright, Marco Belinelli, C.J. Watson, Anthony Randolph and Richard Hendrix) and nine non-roster invites (the last non-roster invite to make the team was Matt Barnes two years ago). The team will play a total of nine games, five in Las Vegas led by assistant coach Keith Smart and four in Salt Lake City led by shooting coach Sidney Moncrief. Do you think the Warriors find an under the radar star like Matt Barnes two years ago? Do you think that the Warriors have sent the right players to the Summer League. Comment with your ideas.

Baron Opts Out, Signs With Clippers

At the last minute the Warriors were told by Baron Davis' agent that he would be opting out of the final year on his contract (where he would be earning almost 18-million dollars). Just a day later, Baron signed a five-year 65-million doller contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. Why do you think Davis did this? Do you think he was upset with Don Nelson or do you think he just wanted a long term deal? Comment with your ideas.

Uncertain Future

The Warriors have a busy off season ahead of them. Only five players on their current roster have contracts good through next season. Among the players with contracts expiring are Monta Ellis, Baron Davis and Andris Biedrins. With a limited amount of money available, who do you think the Warriors should set their priorities on keeping. Who do you think is disposable? Comment with your ideas.

Dissapointing Season End

Despite missing the playoffs with a record of 48-34, the Warriors had many bright spots this season, which will go well with the many coming for them in the near future. Here are just a few of the many bright spots the Warriors had this season:
  • 48-34 record
  • 10-5 record on road vs. East
  • Baron Davis, Stephen Jackson and Monta Ellis: 20+ points per game, 1+ steals per game
  • Andris Beidrins: 9.8 rebounds per game, 27 double-doubles
  • Wins against all but one Western Conference team
They'll even get a lottery pick for the upcoming NBA Draft!

Improved on Road vs. East

Last season, one of the Warriors greatest weaknesses was playing Eastern Conference teams on the road. Despite having only a 5-10 record in these games last year, the Warriors still managed to get the eighth seed in the Western Conference. This year, the Warriors have finished all of their road games against the Eastern Conference with a 10-5 record. This improvement will be desperately needed, as the Warriors, with a record far better than .500, are still clinging to the eighth seed in the very tough Western Conference. Do you think this improved record on the road against the Eastern Conference will get the Warriors into the playoffs? Comment with your ideas.

60% in a Month!

Yesterday capped off the month of February, a month in which Warriors guard Monta Ellis shot an amazing 60 percent from the field! Monta Ellis is one of only ten guards to ever accomplish this feat. What do you think of that? Comment with your ideas.

O'Bryant Wants Out

Patrick O'Bryant, the Warriors 7 foot center in his second year, has said multiple times that he does not wish to return to the Warriors next season, especially if Don Nelson is still the head coach. O'Bryant complains that Nelson does not give him his fair share of playing time. O'Bryant has also said that he is a basketball "player", not a basketball "watcher". Do you think the Warriors should bring O'Bryant back for next season? How about Don Nelson? Comment with your ideas.

Hidden Potential

Brandan Wright, the Warriors 7 foot center out of North Carolina, came off the bench yesterday and scored 8 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and blocked 2 shots. Head coach Don Nelson has used Wright sparingly so far this season, but Wright is due to get more playing time since Andris Biedrins will probably be out for a couple weeks. Do you think Nelson should give Wright more playing time, or do you think that Wright should continue to ride the bench? Comment with your ideas.

Pietrus Unhappy?

Mickael Pietrus, the Warriors swingman, is upset about his lack of playing time, and has recently asked to be traded. What do you think the Warriors should do with Pietrus. Should they keep him or trade him? If you think they should trade him, what would you expect them to get in return? Comment with your ideas.

Webber's Return

In Webber's first game, he posted only 4 points and didn't appear to be a significant force as the Warriors fell to heavily injured Bulls. Do you think Webber will be a bust or do you think he will improve and help the Warriors down the stretch? Comment with your ideas.

Monster on the Glass

Andris Biedrins, the Warriors 7 foot center, has really started to grab rebounds. In the past four games, Biedrins has recorded 11, 11, 10 and 26 rebounds! In the last of these four games, when Biedrins grabbed 26 rebounds, it was not only his career high, but it was also more rebounds than anyone in the entire NBA has recovered all season. That is hard to accomplish! What do you you think of this feat. Do you think that Andris Biedrins could become the low-post threat that the Warriors have needed so desperately in these past years? Comment with your ideas.

Webber Coming Back???

Lately, many reporters have been talking about the Warriors possibly signing Chris Webber. Webber, formerly drafted by the Warriors in 1994, had become one of the Warrior's fans favorite player to boo while he was playing for other teams. Also, when Webber did leave the team over ten years ago, his relationship with head coach Don Nelson was poor, to say the least. Some say Webber would be the low-post player the Warriors need, while others think the Warriors should just play Patrick O'Bryant and Brandan Wright more. Do you think the Warriors should sign Chris Webber or not? Comment with your ideas.

Ten More for C.J.!

On January 8, the Warriors signed point guard C.J. Watson to a 10-day contract. During those ten days, Watson played well, averaging 4.4 points per game and 2 assists per game in relatively limited minutes. His strong performance earned himself yet another 10-day contract. Do you think Watson will become a long-term Warrior or do you think his time with the team is coming to an end? Comment with your ideas.

All-Stars, Snubs and Undeserving

Starters Playing too Long?

Yesterday, the Warriors were cruising to an obvious blowout victory over the Seattle Supersonics. With a game today against the 14-2 Orlando Magic, Don Nelson took the starters out yesterday with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter. When the Warriors are on the front end of a back-to-back again and are easily going to win the game, how soon do you think Don Nelson should pull his starters? Comment with your ideas.

Return of the Warriors!

After starting the season 0-6, the Warriors have really come together the last 9 games putting up an 8-1 record in the those 9 games. This gives the Warriors a season record of 8-7, making them the first team in NBA history to start 0-6 and ever return to the .500 mark at any time for the rest of the season, let alone get above .500. What do you think of this feat? Comment with your ideas.
